Located on the West Fork of the Trinity River, Eagle Mountain Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in North Texas, with a surface area of 8,738 acres (according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department). This lake is great for fishing, duck hunting, skiing, wake boarding, relaxing, and recreational boating. The lake boasts largemouth bass, spotted bass, channel catfish, white bass, and white crappie. Several parks located around the lake offer lakeside fun and nature activities of various kinds. Eagle Mountain Park provides great hiking trails and picnic areas too.
Eagle Mountain lake offers some of the best lake living near the city, with its elevated hills and bluffs, and long dam along the southern edge. Two public boat ramps and several marinas offer access to the water. However, the best access comes from being a homeowner in one of the charming neighborhoods around the lake.
